This position is responsible for the central coordination of activities and communications; ensuring timely flow of information to and from the CHP office. Represents the CHP office with internal and external stakeholders, in a clear and compelling manner. Oversees high priority special projects throughout the portfolio. Leads cross-enterprise initiatives.

Fundamental Components:

  • Manages the CHP office including the information and material flow in and out of the office

  • Prepares briefing documents, presentations, support materials and follow-up for internal and external presentations and speeches

  • Ensures the CHP office is connected with and coordinates activities such as town hall meetings, executive site visits, board meetings and employee communications which are being driven or hosted by the respective portfolio business

  • Engages directly with key internal and at times external stakeholders; including representing the VP of CHP as needed

  • Drives the agenda setting process and meeting execution for CHP senior leadership gatherings

  • Develops relationships with external constituents and cross-functional team members as required in support of initiatives

  • Monitor and prepare report outs on performance relative to plans

  • Builds influential business client relationships and utilizes own network to drive optimal business results and outcomes

  • Coordinates activities around the annual budgeting process

  • Lead special projects or programs that require tight coordination with the CHP office that are strategic in nature and impact the broader organization

  • Take on interim assignments, if needed, filling a needed gap in one of the portfolio businesses

  • Ensure consistent, efficient and cost effective processes, procedures and appropriate accountability is being followed

  • Role has access to highly confidential material information that must be handled appropriately at all times


  • 6 + years of related experience and technical/functional expertise in several of the following areas: management consulting; healthcare system management; health plan management; financial analysis, project management, operations management, marketing and communications

  • Ability to support a high paced agenda

  • Desire to learn operational expertise at large organization with desire to take on a new or expanded role in the future

  • Experience with cross-functional initiatives, matrix organizations with a high degree of complexity

  • Demonstrated relationship management skills at all levels internal and external constituents

  • Strategic business acumen

  • Ability to influence diverse teams and build strong relationships

  • Must demonstrate strategic thinking as well as roll up your sleeves action

  • Ability to make sound independent decisions

  • Excited to grow and take on more responsibility as the business grows and needs increase

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; including making complex scenarios simple

  • Strong and efficient power point skills

  • Confident and able to be influential and assertive

  • Will consider MBA with 3+ years post MBA or recent MBA grad dependent on experiences

  • Preference position be based in Wellesley, New York City or Charlotte, but flexible if willing to travel


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a MBA.


    The Portfolio Operations Lead will play a critical role in the operational integration of Aetna s consumer-facing product portfolio. This individual will be tasked with ensuring that the operations of the Consumer Health Products division (CHP) are efficient, effective, coordinated, and well communicated.
