Are you an actuary who looks at the insurance industry and sees not just what is, but what could be? Are you looking to change how health insurance works to better serve members and plan sponsors? Then join the Disruptive Innovation team within the Commercial Product organization.
This role is part of a small focused team that brings disruptive new products to market. You will work with the rest of the team to identify, vet, and build new insurance products and program. As the only actuary directly on the product team you will provide actuarial horsepower under the guidance of a commercial actuary.
Directing/developing product development strategy by developing:
o Competitive positioning
o Underwriting guidelines and policy
Responsible for product design, which includes establishing key features, product performance standards, cost benefit, pricing strategy, market opportunity, competitive positioning, rating system integration, and resource assessment /allocation
Provide technical assistance and consultation to project managers
Ensuring effective internal and external communication with all stakeholders regarding product development process
Gathers and analyzes feedback in support of performance analysis for products and continual improvement
Bachelor's degree along with 3 - 5 years related work experience
Ideal candidate will have their ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or almost at ASA
Prior commercial experience is preferred
Must be a strong problem-solver
Unique opportunity for an Actuary to step outside of a traditional actuarial position
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Actuarial/Associate of the Society of Actuaries is desired otherwise you must be close to getting your designation
Wellesley-based strongly preferred or Hartford, CT. Bethesda MD location second preference. Telework from any other location possible.
